7 Faves of ‘25

With 2025 well behind us (how did that happen so fast??), it would be remiss of me to not do one final reflect on some highlights! (But also, scroll to the end of the blog for some lowlights, since we gotta keep it real too..)

We’re starting strong. Honestly, I know I bang on about it but was this Nutbush photo my favourite of 2025? Probably. Not even sorry.

As a 90s kid (and bonafide dance floor girly when the vibe is right), the Nutbush has had a place in my heart since I was in primary school line-dancing at the school disco in my Saddle Club flares (yes, really). Nutbush and the Macarena will get me to the dance floor faster than you can say ‘5, 6, 7, 8’.

Now, as an adult and somewhat-respectable photographer, getting a photo that captures that childhood glee is the DREAM! Mid-kick, highly focused with a beer in the hand is as good as I’ll ever get. (especially for a shot taken above my head! I’m not this tall!!)

These two are the cutest, and Mitch’s proposal at Montalto is still one of my highlights of 2025. Her visible excitement and his relief, all within the olive trees and vines. This is my second proposal I’ve shot at Montalto and they do SUCH a good job with their picnics and general logistics. It’s also a stunning spot for a cute meal or drink!

When old friends (who are also a past wedding couple!) drop into my inbox saying ‘we want to do a family shoot in the trees with all the wildflowers’… SIGN. ME. UP. Obsessed with every angle from this shoot.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and again, my repeat customers are the greatest.

I love so many shots from Kaitlin’s and Blake’s wedding, but this photo of Blake signing the certificates with their two-year-old Spencer just gets me straight in the feels.

This shot is part of a much larger family sesh - sometimes bigger family groups can feel a little awkward and posed, but I love this photo of great-gran and great-grandson and the natural happiness they’re exuding. Too precious!

This is literally a one-off snap of a wedding guest at Kaitlin and Blake’s wedding while I was up the front at the ceremony, waiting for the bridal procession to start (I try snag a few candids at this time but it’s tricky to be sneaky when literally everyone is just staring at me up the front 😂). I looove the light and how it almost looks like a painting! A+ happy-candid moment.

If you’ve ever tried to photograph kids, especially ones that have just met you and are a bit shy, you’ll know this photo is huge win! 0.4 seconds before he was on the move again, but too cute!

Those are all my FAVEST of faves!

Scrolling down the blog, it’s clear to me that I gravitate towards flattering light, natural moments of expression and joy, and candids > posed photos.

If that sounds like your vibe, and you have an event coming up or an idea for a shoot, slide into my emails via my Contact page and let’s chat!

…ugh, aaaaaand as promised, a delicious list of the moments that made the shit-list:

  • Hurt my back in August just from being silly and not taking care of myself and thinking I’m invincible/forgetting I’m in my 30s. This was easily the worst physical injury I’ve had. Took me out for a solid two months and even after that I didn’t feel quite right for months after, and now I’m miles back in my fitness progress, ugh. (Look after your body, people!)

  • Was a goose and didn’t factor in business tax as much as I should have, and the ATO came for me in July with a juicy juicy bill. Not making that mistake again, trust me!

  • Did some hard work with my psych during the year and had some big scary feelings. We growing, but it’s haaaaaard. Not always linear.

  • Didn’t get as far as I hoped this year with my long-term savings/investing plans, due to a few pivots and the aforementioned tax bill. Made a few life choices!

Luckily all of this is temporary, still a ripper year as far as I’m concerned. Thank you for being here, see you on the blog again next month!
