‘You’ve taken our photos, now what?’

A valid question!

We’ve sent all the emails, we’ve met and I’ve captured your family/event/lovely face etc, we’ve said goodbye and driven away from each other.

Now what happens?

WELL, first thing is that I get my laptop out and immediately back up your photos onto my hard drive, and so I can edit them (and keep them on my memory cards until they’re finished and sent to you as a backup). Just as a safety!

When we first speak about an event/session, either when I first quote you or when we confirm date, time, etc, I will also give you an idea of editing timeframes and delivery methods for your photos.

Regarding delivery methods, 99% of the time (unless otherwise required), I deliver photos in both full resolution (best for print) and web resolution (best for website/social media), via Dropbox which is my delivery method of choice.

When we get to timeframes, it does vary. It generally depends on the type of shoot we’re doing.

For family sessions, I usually deliver within 1-2 weeks of the shoot. For events (engagements, baby showers, corporate, markets, etc), my delivery is quicker, usually 1-4 days depending on that week’s schedule. This is because I recognise events are more timely, interest in the photos is at a peak directly after the event and does drop off as the days continue to pass, so I do prioritise event editing over families (as, usually, families aren’t a timely situation).

For weddings specifically, again I will quote you on timeframes when we email and chat (and provide an accurate update at or before your wedding day based off the big picture of that week/month), but weddings also get a sneak peek of a handful of images (generally 10-25) the next day to tide them over while I edit a LOT of photos! Wedding photos generally turnaround within 4-6 weeks, but I will let you know times as I go!

When photos are ready, you’ll get a message from me with a link to your Dropbox folders, instructions on how to download on both computer and phone, and a kind nudge to my Google reviews (it helps so much!). And of course I’m always available to help troubleshoot if you need!

All photos are provided digitally at no extra cost to you from your quoted price, but I CAN also provide prints, frames, wedding albums, etc! My pricing for these is extra, and can be found on my Pricing and Packages page!
